Al Rayan Bank recently opened an office in Scotland, cementing itself as the only wholly Shariah compliant retail bank provider in the country.

The office was opened by Al Rayan Bank’s Chief Executive Office, Sultan Choudhury, and Chief Commercial Officer, Ketih Leach, along with other officials from the Bank’s executive team.

At the opening ceremony, Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Jobs, and Fair Work, Ketih Brown MSP, said,” Al Rayan Bank’s welcome decision to expand its operations into Scotland for the first time highlights the real opportunity offered by ethical finance. This announcement reflects Scotland’s growing profile in ethical finance, building on last year’s successful Global Ethical Finance Forum and the work being done by the Edinburgh-based Ethical Finance Hub. I wish them all the best for a successful future in Scotland”.

Customers in Scotland will now have access to Al Rayan’s full suite of Islamic retail banking services, including Sharia compliant home and property financing tailored to the Scottish market, savings accounts, business products, pensions, and investment opportunities.

While a wholly Shariah compliant bank, Al Rayan offers services to customers of all faiths. An estimated 94 per cent of all Fixed Term Deposit savings customers who joined the Bank in 2016 were non-Muslim.
