Domino’s Pizza franchises in the Netherlands revealed that it will implement systems that would allow their workers the option to collect their salaries in Bitcoin.
The Immensus Holding, a franchisee that owns sixteen of the 270 Domino’s Pizza locations in Holland, said that workers can now make a choice to be paid in euros or in Bitcoin (BTC), but only for the salaries that are above the Holland’s minimum wage.
The company that is set to handle these payments is BTC Direct, a crypto company with a fiat-to-crypto onramp. The company will be responsible for every one of the workers who chooses to participate in this new project.
“We are a modern company, and we work with a lot of young employees,” the Immensus co-owner Jonathan Gurevich stated. “We hear them talking about Bitcoin and we want to offer the opportunity to own cryptocurrency.”
According to laws in Netherlands, companies are required to pay the minimum wage for the employees in euros. The minimum monthly wage in Netherlands very much depends on the hours worked and the age of the worker. In general, workers who have 15-18 years can earn more in this pizza chain giant, so they could potentially get the rest in Bitcoin.
