Russia is set to issue government subsidized green bonds in order to develop big infrastructure projects in the energy sector, market stimulation and authorities, according to a statement by the Russian President Vladimir Putin at a session of the St. Petersburg International Forum.

Russia President stated that initiating these projects seeks some stimulation using the market mechanisms. The country starts offering green bonds that are government-subsidized, and the developed criteria of the environment projects or as the experts call it ‘green taxonomy’.

Russian leader also stated that the country will proceed with the reduction of carbon emissions, will upgrade the sector for hear energy and will electrify the infrastructure for gas transport. The agenda is composed of further energy improvements in the housing sector and the systems for heat supply, as well as converting the public transport to gas, hybrid engines or electricity.
