Bangladesh is ranked 10th in the Islamic Finance Country Index (IFIC), published by London-based Edbiz Consulting Ltd. According to last year’s Global Islamic Finance Report, Bangladesh has advanced from the 11th position in 2015.

Malaysia reached the top last year, followed by Iran and Saudi Arabia. Moreover, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Indonesia were ranked fourth, fifth and sixth respectively, followed by Qatar, Bahrain and Pakistan.

The IFCI was initiated with the aim to capture the growth of the Islamic banking and finance industry (IBF) in different countries of the world.
