IBA Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (IBA-CEIF) has announced some new courses for bankers. IBA-CEIF in collaboration with Meezan Bank Limited has announced a one day basic level course on Shariah Compliant Financing Solutions for Businesses and Corporates. The course is essential for businesses interested in understanding the basic parameters of Shariah framework and prohibitions thereof.
The course progresses to cover the solutions for financing in line with Shariah. The course will be held on 28th August, 2019 at IBA City Campus, Karachi. IBA-CEIF has also offered a two-day advance level course on mobilising Islamic finance for NGOs. The course titled “Islamic Social Finance & Fund-raising instruments” is targeted towards social entrepreneurs and organisations interested in making a social impact by equitable distribution of wealth appropriate to the Islamic finance mechanisms. The course will be held from 7th to 8th Oct, 2019 at IBA City Campus.
The course is, thus, meant to create awareness amongst social organisations as to the fund-raising methods compliant with Islamic finance. The course will highlight the significance of social organisations in Islamic teaching, explore the Islamic ways of economic collection and distribution of wealth as well as modern technological methods that could be combined for a successful completion of socio-economic impact projects.
Another course on “Art of Selling Islamic Financial Products” will be held on 9th Oct, 2019 at IBA City Campus. It will be a unique intermediate level one day course on the art of Marketing and Selling Islamic Financial Products. The course will enhance the understanding of the market for Islamic Financial Products. The course is designed to discourse to the participants the “Dos and Don’ts” of dealing with the customer, keeping in mind the sensitivity of the product association with religion.
The trainer, Assistant Professor Dr Ziyaad Mahomed who is a faculty member at INCEIF, will also enrich the classroom discussions with universal practices and cases enabling the participants to gain insight into the minds of the consumer and gain a competitive edge. Two days Course of “Fintech and Blockchain Application for Islamic Financing” is scheduled on 10th to 11th Oct, 2019. The course is oriented towards banking professionals and financial industry experts interested in Islamic banking in context of modern technologies.
