Martı is a famous start-up company founded in Turkey by the entrepreneur Oğuz Alper Öktem.
The company is actually the first one of its kind in this country and offers micro-mobility and e-scooters.
According to the owner, they worked also on the renting possibility and followed the successful examples used around the world. The company offers an initial economical tariff.
For example, if you are to rent an e-scooter in pretty much every major city in countries in the European Union, such as France, Spain, Portugal, or even in the United States, the price set for a journey that lasts 10 minutes is similar to the price you pay for getting a cup of coffee.
Öktem pointed out that this is the main source of information used while forming the price for their company services. Therefore, using a Seagull, one of the e-scooters from the Martı collection, will cost you 7.89 TL for a journey of 10 minutes. So, with the price of a cup of coffee, you can narrow down a half an hour walk to a 10-minute ride with the e-scooter. Therefore, with the e-scooter, you can save some valuable portion of your time and get faster to your desired destination.
Öktem also states that the trips made with the e-scooters are much safer than those made with cars, motorcycles, bicycles, or planes. He also mentioned that all of their e-scooters have electronically set speed-limit and cannot go above 18 km/h.
The whole system works through an application that is installed on the smartphone of the user. After installing the application will show a map of the nearby area and the Seagulls that are available in that area. All the scooters are locked with a safety lock in order to prevent theft. The safety lock can be unlocked by scanning the QR code on the e-scooter the user has selected. After that, the user is free to use the e-scooter for the amount of time he prefers.
After the journey is over, the user needs to scan the QR code once again and place the lock in place so that the e-scooter is safely locked and ready for further usage.
