UK utility SSE Plc (LON:SSE) said on Monday it has successfully issued a EUR-650-million (USD 759m) green bond that matures in 2025.

This is the company’s second green bond and it makes SSE the largest issuer of green bonds from the UK corporate sector, it said. The proceeds will be swapped to Sterling and the all-in funding cost is estimated at around 2.6%. The bond has a coupon of 1.375%.

“This funding is consistent with our commitment to maintain a strong balance sheet and strong market rating, and has been secured at very attractive pricing,” said Gregor Alexander, finance director of SSE.

A year ago, SSE issued a EUR-600-million green bond, seeking to refinance its constructed or under construction onshore wind farms.
