As part of its vision to become a leading provider of Islamic banking and finance services in Oman, Ahlibank has rebranded its Islamic banking window Al Hilal Islamic Banking to Ahli Islamic.
The bank unveiled the new brand identity at a ceremony held under the auspices of H E Tahir bin Salim bin Abdullah al Amri, executive president of the Central Bank of Oman on Wednesday at Crowne Plaza Muscat.
The event was attended by the bank’s chairman, board members and executive management team. Expressing his excitement about the new brand, Said Abdullah al Hatmi, CEO of Ahlibank, said:
“Building on the impressive performance since its inception in 2013, the values of transparency and truthfulness it espouses and considering the better prospects of Islamic banking industry in Oman, which is expected to grow consistently, Ahlibank’s Islamic banking window is launching on a transformative journey with a new brand identity.”
He said the vision behind the new brand is to become a leading Omani service provider, abiding by the ethics and values of Islamic finance, and helping customers, communities and people to prosper and grow.
Speaking to media-persons on the sidelines of the event, Hatmi said after a successful stint of five years, they believe that their Islamic banking window is entering into a second phase of growth and for that the bank is taking a rebranding exercise. He said:
“It’s the right time for the bank to embark upon this journey with a fresh vision that will better enable us to grow whilst delivering a vital contribution to the national economy.”
HE Amri said, “We wish Ahlibank best of luck for their future journey. Islamic banking segment has a potential to grow further in the country but the key to success in this era is innovation and adaptability.”
Since its inception in 2013, Ahlibank’s Islamic banking window has shown positive growth consistently and continues to focus on innovative products and services, in order to increase its foothold and market presence.
