Under the patronage of H.E. Khaled Nasser Abdullah Al Roudan, Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Arabnet Kuwait 2018 is expected to bring together 1000+ of the region’s government leaders, digital practitioners and entrepreneurs. H.E. Al Roudan will launch the event on October 8th.

The conference will host more than 90 speakers and 40 exhibitors, as well as high-level sponsors that include Kuwait Finance House, Boubyan Bank and Digital Media Services, among others.

This year’s conference will launch the Kuwait Innovation Economy Tech Startups 2018 report on October 8th and will address the main challenges facing tech startups. The report reveals that 43% of Kuwaiti startups did not receive any funding, and that 71% of startups say it is very difficult to find the talent they need to grow their business. This makes talent-related issues the largest impediment facing tech startups in Kuwait.

Arabnet will also host a high-level group of global venture capital businesses including HOF Capital, Mustard Seed, and 11.2 during the Innovation and Investment forum.

Kuwait Finance House is sponsoring the Money track that will bring together Kuwaiti banking leaders including their own representatives, NBK Capital, Boubyan Bank and others, as well as fintech leaders from SupernovaeLabs, Ripple and GetJenny. Global media players from Snap Inc. and Twitter will shed light on the technologies reshaping marketing and the consumer journey.

For the first time this year, Arabnet Kuwait will host Founders’ Day. It will take place on October 7th and will engage the participants with two tracks of hands-on workshops covering entrepreneurship and cutting-edge technology.
